Russian man strayed from the bear, biting his tongue
A resident of Tuva who had never seen a bear during a predator's attack bit off his tongue and thus saved his life.
Now 29-year-old Nikolai Igrit is undergoing treatment in hospital, and after discharge he will have to pay a fine, they report.NEWS«.
The meeting with the clubfoot occurred on June 1 in the Khutinsky nature reserve in the Piy-Khemsky district of the republic, where three comrades went to collect deer horns.
“When I saw the bear, I first froze in horror; I didn’t have any weapons, not even a knife. I started screaming, I thought it wouldn’t attack, but the bear galloped towards me. I managed to hit him in the face with my fist, but he attacked and knocked me down,” said Nikolai, who found himself in a hospital bed.

At some point, the bleeding man managed to contrive and grab the predator by the tongue - the beast rushed to the side of the pain, and his opponent clenched his teeth. As a result, clubfoot was left without a tongue, and Nikolai saved his life.
Comrades took him to the Kyzyl hospital only the next day. After rendering first aid, they had to explain themselves to the policeman - the outcome of the conversation was an administrative case for making fires in the forests without permission.
