Sun, beach and sky-high prices: Miami through the eyes of a tourist

Seagulls, the sun, the sea, the beach, great cocktails, cool nightclubs, exorbitant prices and people waking up only after dinner - this is real Miami.

Having burned well in the sun, we realized that another day at the beach could be dangerous for us. Besides, we, as true travelers, give sights! Therefore, we rented a car and went to study everything in the area.

Since I really love animals, we decided to start with the zoo. I have seen enough photos of how everyone feeds giraffes right from their hands, and I also wanted to do it.

For some reason, we did not take the so-called “rickshaw” at the entrance, but went on foot. What then very much regretted. The zoo is so huge that you need to spend a good half of the day.

And now - giraffes. I see this sign, run up to the fence and freeze in place ... "They closed 5 minutes ago." Ahhh !!! Honestly, so upset, I don't remember myself. I just dreamed of feeding them ...

Very sad, I asked to go to Coral Castle. I was told the touching story of the creation of this castle, and I really wanted to look at it. And the story goes like this: “A poor man from Latvia was engaged to a girl from a rich family. On the night before the wedding, she broke off the engagement because her father was against it. After that, the guy went to the USA and built a “coral castle” there for his beloved. He invited her several times to come to this castle, but she always refused him. She didn’t even come at the age of 80 (many years after the death of the former groom). ”
To be honest, I expected to see some kind of beautiful house made of corals, but when we arrived there, we saw such a tiny little house with a courtyard - and that’s all.

But my disappointment was understandable, because the giraffe broke my heart. So, with the music turned up loud, we headed back to Miami. And there we took our favorite cocktails - and all the sadness disappeared.

Did you know that Miami used to be called the "Magic City"? I didn’t know either, until I went on a tour with Duck tour. They only called him that because in 100 years he was able to grow from a thousand people to 3 millions.

Duck tour is an excursion that lasts 3 or 4 hours. You board a bus that takes you around the city and they tell you about the sights. But at some point, your “miracle bus” turns into a boat - and you sail through the backwaters between Miami and Miami Beach. This is so cool that I just can’t put it into words.

But the most interesting thing was the end of the tour: not having reached the final point 5 blocks, our bus simply tore down the door of a parked car - “tore it down” in the literal sense of the word. It wasn’t the driver I felt sorry for (after all, when he crawled out of the car, he could hardly even stand on his feet, he had too much to drink). But the Audi... It was so beautiful... But without a door. ?

But, despite the incident, I got great pleasure from this tour. And they looked at the city, and swam along the backwater, and saw super-steep villas of stars - beauty.
