A bill in California will allow civil servants to bring children to work
In California, lawmakers will consider a bill that will allow government employees to bring their children to work.
The “Bring Your Child to Work” bill will apply to children between six weeks and six months, or until the child can walk, whichever comes first.
The bill, AB 372, is modeled on other programs already operating in the private sector and does not require the office to provide any childcare assistance, but places the responsibility on the parents. If this passes, Randy Vöpel said that this will ultimately depend on the discretion of the office manager. Agencies interested in this program will also need to seek environmental safety for the child.
He added that the rising costs of caring for children make it necessary to adopt laws or programs like the one he offers.
“It doesn’t cost money,” Wepel said. “You just bring your child to work.” You bring the cradle. That's all".
"You can never make up for not having them with you, just to look back and hear them talk or even giggle," says Sherry Smith of Schools Financial Credit Union.
In contrast to Smith, others believe that there are more disadvantages than advantages in the proposed draft law.
"I think it's a distraction for workers, and I don't think a worker with a child can do as much," said Pam Jensen of Sacramento.
Recall that in the USA no strict legislation in this plan. For the most part, it all depends on the employer. Usually, women are given a decree on the 3 month after childbirth (in California), often unpaid. Forum Daily talked about the secrets of childcare from American women.
