Military parade and song from American diplomats: Ukraine celebrated the 30th anniversary of Independence

Today, August 24, Ukraine celebrates the 30th anniversary of independence. In the center of Kiev, a festive parade of troops took place on the occasion of the holiday. The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky also took part in the celebration. This is stated on website of the President of Ukraine.

Before the start of the event, a historical theatrical performance called "DNA" (Independence Day of the country) took place on Independence Square. On the main square of Ukraine, mise-en-scenes and elements of scenery were located, where they presented the most important pages of Ukrainian history from the times of Trypillian culture to the present.

The main heroine of the celebration was a girl who symbolized Ukraine. She passed the theatrical mise-en-scenes: the era of Kievan Rus, the Cossack time, literary Ukraine, the Liberation struggle, scientific Ukraine, Holodomor, World War II, Soviet Ukraine, Independent Ukraine.

In the final episode of the theatrical performance "DNA", the main character ran along Khreshchatyk and presented flowers to the warrior.

After that, the solemn passage of troops began with the carrying of the flag of Ukraine 30 meters long in honor of the anniversary of independence.

“What is a strong country? A country that dreams ambitiously and acts decisively. A country that is not afraid of the word “for the first time.” Therefore, for the first time in 30 years, Antonov is building three aircraft for the state, helicopters on Ukrainian blades are being built for the army, and new tanks are being built this year. A strong country revives its navy, naval bases and builds corvettes. A strong country is a country that accepts a missile program for 10 years,” Zelensky said in his celebratory speech.

Columns of parade crews marched along Khreshchatyk, musical compositions performed by a combined military brass band sounded. For the first time in the ceremonial passage of the troops, the cynological units of the power structures took part.

In addition to the Ukrainian military, representatives of the armies of partner countries - the USA, Lithuania, Estonia, Georgia, Denmark, Norway, Canada, Moldova and other countries - took part in the Parade. The passage of the foot columns was completed by an international combined orchestra with the participation of military partner countries (USA, UK, Poland).

The parade continued with a flypast of aviation equipment of the Air Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Navy, the National Guard of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service, the State Border Service of Ukraine, the National Police of Ukraine, the state enterprise "Antonov" and partner states. In particular, in the sky one could see the pride of Ukraine - the world's largest transport aircraft An-225 Mriya.

At the same time, on the outer roadstead of the seaport of Odessa, a ceremonial passage of warships, boats and vessels and an aviation flyover, a demonstration of aerobatic maneuvers by light-engine civil aviation aircraft, and the passage of ships and boats of partner countries and NATO member countries took place.

Also, a mechanized convoy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other security and defense forces of Ukraine drove along Khreshchatyk. The parade also demonstrated artillery systems, multiple launch rocket systems, air defense systems, unmanned aerial vehicles, including domestic production, in service with the Ukrainian army.

In conclusion, a demonstration flight of aviation equipment with a smoke of blue-yellow colors took place in the sky over Kiev.

After that, People's Artist of Ukraine Taras Petrinenko's song "Ukraine" was performed by the main heroine of the theatrical performance "DNA", which rode in front of the participants on a mobile platform in the form of a blue-yellow flower.

In honor of the friendship between the people of Ukraine and the United States, Ukrainian and American employees of the US Embassy in Kiev sang the song "My friend" by the Ukrainian group KOZAK SYSTEM, reported on embassy Facebook page.

"The United States strongly supports Ukraine's sovereignty, territorial integrity, democracy and prosperity," the statement said.

In addition, on the eve of Ukraine's Independence Day, in collaboration with the National Presidential Orchestra of Ukraine and the British Army Orchestra Colchester, musicians from the US Air Force Orchestra in Europe gave a concert at Shevchenko Park to publicly reaffirm the strength of the partnership.
