American Airlines suspended use of power Gate gourmet at Los Angeles International Airport after the Listeria was detected at the cooking site, but Delta Air Lines continues to receive this food. Reports about it Los Angeles Times.

Spokesperson Delta in Atlanta reported on Thursday that food Gate gourmet complies with local and federal regulations.

The food service company said it serves other airlines at the airport, but will not identify them. No other airlines have announced that they are suspending power usage. Gate gourmet.

Spokesperson Fort Worth said that listeria was found in the drainage on the floor, but not on the surfaces where food was prepared. She added that the kitchen has been processed and continues to serve other airlines.

American and Delta did not receive any reports of passengers' illness from food in Los Angeles.

Listeria is not as harmless as it seems to us. It can cause serious infections in children, the elderly and immunocompromised people. The main symptoms are fever, severe headache, abdominal pain and diarrhea. In pregnant women, listeria infection can cause miscarriage or stillbirth.

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 1 600 people suffer from Listeria every year.
