The Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the discovery of 400 kg of cocaine in the Russian Embassy in Argentina

A large consignment of cocaine, which was discovered at a school at the Russian embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina, belonged to an employee of the technical staff of the diplomatic mission, who at that time had completed a business trip under a fixed-term employment contract. This was stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Russia Maria Zakharova, writes the publication "Business Petersburg".

“As for the speculation that appeared in the media that the specified cargo could be sent using diplomatic channels, we would like to note that such a formulation of the question shows ignorance of the mechanism and procedure for sending diplomatic mail, the content of which is determined, of course, not by the technical staff of the mission,” - said Zakharova.

She stressed that the special operation was only possible thanks to the joint work of the special services of Russia and Argentina.

“We are surprised at how this topic is covered by “experts”; some of them agreed that this case “casts a shadow” on our diplomatic mission. Everything is exactly the opposite: the success of this operation was ensured precisely by the effective actions of the Russian ambassador and diplomatic staff,” noted the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Recall, Argentina's Minister of Security Patricia Bullrich reported that 6 people who were involved in the storage and transportation scheme were detained 389 kg of cocaine from Argentina to Russia and European countries.

Among the detainees were 35-year-old son of Russian migrants Ivan Bliznyuk, who worked in the Buenos Aires Police Department and visited Russia several times to organize educational programs for members of the security services, and Alexander Chikalo, who worked with Bliznyuk.
