Argentine law enforcers detained 5 employees of the Russian Embassy, ​​finding 389 kg of cocaine worth 50 million euros in their pouch. Reports about it RBC with reference to the Argentine newspaper All News.

Law enforcement officers began developing a special operation after receiving a call from Russian Ambassador Viktor Coronelli in December 2016. He reported that he had found drugs in the school premises at the embassy.

It turned out that the embassy officer brought the suitcases in July 2016, which left the embassy that same year. The scheme also involved two people in Argentina and three in Russia, some of them were detained.

According to Newsru, in 2016, in the framework of a special operation, law enforcement officers replaced the drugs with flour and placed GPS devices in their suitcases, which allowed them to track their whereabouts. For a whole year, the suitcases with a fake lay on the territory of the diplomatic mission. At the end of 2017, controlled delivery of the cargo by plane to Russia was carried out.

In Russia, three people were detained who were going to pick up their cocaine bags. One of them turned out to be a former economic administrator of the Russian Embassy in Argentina, who worked in the diplomatic mission until 2016.

As they say RIA News with reference to the Argentine edition Clarin Ivan Bliznyuk, a 35-year-old son of Russian migrants who worked in the Buenos Aires Police Department and visited Russia several times to organize educational programs for members of the security services, and Alexander Chikalo, who worked with Bliznyuk, were also detained.

In his social networks, Bliznyuk spoke about relations with representatives of the security sector in diplomatic circles, as well as about relations with Russia. It is known that the package with the drug was planned to be shipped by diplomatic mail to Russia and some European countries. The attackers wanted to smuggle the goods under the guise of diplomatic cargo in the Russian Federation in order to avoid a standard check at the airport. In addition to sending drugs by diplomatic mail, the option of delivering cocaine by private jet or during a trip to Russia by a group of Argentine police cadets was also considered.
