Shooting occurred at a medical center in California
Police in the town of Downey (California) on September 11 near 11: 35 received reports of unrest at the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center.
While the officers were getting to the scene, it became known that the shooting started in the hospital, writes LA Times.
It all started when Kaiser Permanente security officers approached a man who shouted and threatened the staff. In response to a request from the guards to calm down, the man threw a chair through the window and took out a pistol, making, according to witnesses, six or seven shots.
When the officers arrived, the man "surrendered without incident", leaving the building at the request of the police. The suspect is in custody, under investigation.
As a result of the incidentWho was not injured, the police found a gun at the crime scene.
Militiamen reported that the detainee was a little more than 30 years old, but did not disclose his name and other details about him. It is unclear whether the man was a visitor or a hospital employee.
Police searched other hospital buildings to avoid the risk of other shooters there. People were asked to leave the building and take cover.
No other suspects were detected, and the institution continued to operate normally.
