In Kentucky, a politician committed suicide after being charged with harassment

Kentucky Legislative Assemblyman 57-year-old Dan Johnson, previously accused of harassment of a minor girl, committed suicide.

The politician shot himself after being charged with harassment. The body of the deceased was found on the bank of the river, near the bridge near the city of Mount Washington. Next to him lay a gun. Writes ChronAn autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.

On the eve of, before his death, Johnson wrote on his page on the social network Facebookthat 16 has been suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder for years due to the biggest terrorist attack that took place on September 11. He also asked people to take care of his wife.

“On September 11, 2001 in New York, post-traumatic stress disorder, which has been with me 24 hours a day for 16 years, will take my life, I can no longer cope with it. It won,” the politician wrote.

On Monday, the Kentucky Investigation Center published testimony from the victim, a church member, where pastor Dan Johnson worked. According to her, on January 1, 2013, she and Johnson’s daughter slept in the basement under the church. The girl woke up when Dan Johnson kissed her, felt his chest, and then with his hand made violent acts of a sexual nature.

The next day, Dan Johnson held a press conference at which he stated that the charges against him were “completely false,” and that this was part of a nationwide strategy to fight Republicans.

Note that Johnson, a pastor from a church in Louisville, was the author of several bills relating to Christian education in schools. He was elected to the state legislature in 2016.
