Trump wants to move negotiations on Donbass from Minsk
US President Donald Trump proposed moving the negotiations on Donbas from Minsk to another place.
The American president expressed such an initiative at a press conference in New York following a meeting of the UN Security Council in a dialogue with the leader of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, reports Interfax.
“We talked about the fact that Minsk-1 has stalled, is at a dead end, and we need Minsk-2.” He (Donald Trump - ed.) says: “Let’s do it somewhere else (let’s do it - ed.).” I say: “Let’s go,” Nazarbayev said at a press conference in New York following a meeting of the UN Security Council.
“In general, this was originally supposed to be in Kazakhstan. I made trips to gather everyone to meet there. So we agreed that we will work in this direction,” Nazarbayev added.
The Kazakh leader believes that it is necessary to bring peacekeepers into Donbass so that they “define the border.”
“We need to bring their positions closer together, to come to mutual understanding. This mutual understanding does not exist today,” he said.
