Tesla recalls more than a million cars: car windows can injure fingers
Tesla has recalled almost 1,1 million vehicles due to an automatic window reversal system that can react incorrectly after an obstacle is detected. That is, fingers can be pinched with too much force before the window changes direction, reports Yahoo.

Models included in the recall include select 3-2017 Model 2022, 2020-2021 Model Y, and 2021-2022 Model S and Model X.

According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, "A closing window may exert excessive force, pinching the driver's or passenger's fingers before closing, increasing the risk of injury." In addition, "these vehicles do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 118, Power Window Systems."
The automaker will release an over-the-air update to fix the problem. Vehicles built after September 13, 2022 received software updates from the factory and are therefore not eligible for a recall.
The problem was discovered during a "compliance production test" conducted by Tesla technicians from August 19 to 23, 2022. Tesla is not aware of any injuries related to the faulty auto reverse system.
