Putin did not rule out holding a meeting with Zelensky and voiced the main issues to him

Russian President Vladimir Putin admitted that he could have a meeting with President-elect of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, and named the main issues that I would like to discuss with him.

“If we [with Zelensky] once have a meeting, start some negotiations, which I do not rule out, then we will first of all have to talk about how to end the conflict in the south-east of Ukraine,” Putin said.

He stressed that, in his opinion, there is only one way to solve the situation in the east of Ukraine - this is the implementation of the Minsk agreements.

“Unfortunately, Mr. Zelensky has already declared before the election that he is not going to sign a decree or decree on amnesty, first, and second, he does not agree to give these territories (self-proclaimed so-called Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics) special status,” Putin noted, noting that both are key parts of the Minsk agreements.

“I would love to ask him these questions and debate on these topics. You see, because a large number of Ukrainian citizens voted for him. In my opinion, people expect first of all from the future political leadership of Ukraine the solution of these particular issues. Everyone is sick of this conflict, ”Putin continued.
