The US government has published new nuclear test videos. VIDEO

At the start of the 2017 of the year, the US government declassified 750 videos of nuclear weapon testing conducted from 1945 to 1962. In March, the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, part of the University of California, published the first 64 commercials in its YouTube-channel. 14 December researchers laid out another 62 video.

The nuclear test tapes were stored in the storage facility for many years and began to decompose with time, which is why they decided to digitize them. According to the physicist Greg Spriggs, who works with the video archive, these materials will allow specialists to better understand the consequences of nuclear strikes: “We don’t have modern recordings, therefore archival test video is all we can work with.”

In all, over the period from 1945 to 1962, the US conducted more than 200 nuclear tests. All of them were recorded from a variety of angles, and in the general archive of such videos there are up to 10 thousands.
