The US Embassy in Kyiv urged Americans to urgently leave Ukraine due to massive Russian missile attacks

US Embassy in Kiev, Ukraine, is urging US citizens to take shelter during Russian rocket and mortar attacks and leave Ukraine when it is safe to do so using private ground transportation options.

Russia attacked the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine, as well as government facilities in Kyiv and other cities. The ongoing Russian strikes against Ukraine pose a direct threat to the civilian population and civilian infrastructure.

• If in a house or building, move to the lowest level of the structure with the fewest external walls, windows, and openings; close all doors and sit near an interior wall, away from windows and doorways.

Be aware that even if an incoming missile or drone is intercepted, falling debris poses a significant risk.

The targets were apparently critical infrastructure. Ukraine does not disclose the list of targets hit, but judging by information from open sources, it can be assumed that, as before, they primarily targeted energy facilities - thermal power plants, power plants, substations.

In Kyiv, rockets hit objects in the central districts of the city. As of 10:00 am, eight people had died and 24 were injured in the city, interior minister adviser Rostislav Smirnov said. He said that as a result of the attack in Kyiv, more than 15 cars were damaged, some of them completely burned down.
