US warned Russian diplomats about responsibility for interfering with elections

The US authorities warned Russian diplomats about the possibility of criminal prosecution if they appear at polling stations during the presidential election, the press service of the Russian embassy in Washington said.

Previously ForumDaily reported that the authorities of Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma denied the representatives of Russia in the presence of elections in the United States as observers.

In Oklahoma and Texas, officials rejected requests, citing state laws, while their colleagues in Louisiana offered to come to the next election.

“If the flood had not occurred, we would, of course, be open to such a visit, but I cannot accommodate such a request due to the current situation,” wrote the Louisiana Secretary of State and asked the Russian Consul General to contact him again in 2020. if he is still interested in such a visit.”

The embassy is surprised at how the American side presents the texture of the case. The statement reminds that participation in elections as observers is a normal function of embassies, and American diplomats in Russia act in the same way.
