The policeman was suspended from work for the words "we shoot only blacks." VIDEO
Police Lieutenant Greg Abbott, in the state of Georgia, USA, was suspended from operational work after a video from one of the policeman’s duties was published. In the video you can hear the policeman say the phrase "we kill only black people."
The incident occurred last year. The police officer asked the female driver to take the phone, to which she replied: “Okay, but I just don’t want to put my hands down. I apologize, I saw too many cases when the police shot at people who gave up their hands. ”
“But you’re not black. Remember, we only ever shoot blacks. Yes, we only kill black people. In all the videos you saw, were it black people who were being killed?,” Abbott said.
The woman answered in the affirmative.
“Regardless of the context in which it was said, it should not have been said,” Police Chief Mike Register responded to the situation and said Abbott would remain on administrative duty pending the outcome of the investigation.
Abbott's lawyer said the officer was cooperating with the investigation and that his comments were intended to "de-escalate a situation with an uncooperative passenger."
