Bribing voters and threatening to explode: violations at the presidential elections in Ukraine

• In the same region, an unknown person called the police and promised to blow up the headquarters of one of the candidates “if the bribery of voters does not stop,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

• According to a Current Time correspondent from Kyiv, after reports of mining, the police evacuated over 150 people from the Ukraine Hotel in the center of Kyiv. But the sappers and dog handlers did not find any explosives at the site.
• One of the presidential candidates Oleg Lyashko posted on his Facebook page a video showing who he voted for, and the ballot itself - there he ticked his name. The committee of voters has declared that it has violated the secrecy of the vote - it is forbidden to take pictures and issue ballots. Nevertheless, Lyashko was not detained. Later, the Interior Ministry said that he could face up to three years in prison.
• It is reported that in Kyiv the first voters were allowed into one of the polling stations at 8:15, and not at 8:00. As Channel 5 reported, members of the precinct commission did not have time to attach stickers about sealing the ballot boxes in time. In the Kharkov and Zhytomyr regions, voters were allowed into the polling station five minutes before the official start of voting, said Semyon Sokha, the leader of the Kharkov branch of the Tradition and Order organization.
• At two polling stations in the Volyn and Rivne regions, members of the civil network “Opora” were not allowed to attend the morning meeting of precinct commissions.
• In the city of Podolsk, Odessa region, one of the employees of the CEC came to a vote while in a state of intoxication, the correspondent of the Present Time reports. In another city of the region elections did not start on time due to the substitution of seals.
• On the eve of the elections, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine announced the bribing of voters. According to Arsen Avakov, almost 4300 cases of bribery were recorded, according to 299 of them criminal cases were opened. Political analyst Gennady Chizhov told the Present Time that in Odessa voters are offered money for refusing to participate in voting.

The results of the first round of elections will be announced before 10 April. If none of the candidates at this stage receives more than 50% of the votes, the second round will be appointed - it will take place on April 21. The final election results will fail until May 1. In Ukraine, the president is elected for a term of five years.
