Nearly 100 illegal immigrants found in the trailer refrigerator

According to officials, dozens of illegal immigrants, including a three-year-old child, were found in a trailer in south Texas.

Raymondville Police Department reported Fox Newsthat the Texas State Security Police Department stopped a trailer that was moving along the 77 highway, about 45 miles (75 km) north of the border with Mexico.

A spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Security, José Rodriguez, told reporters that 86 was hiding behind rotten products.

“The refrigerator was on. The temperature was set at 40 degrees Fahrenheit, so it was pretty cold,” Rodriguez said. In addition, four minors were not accompanied by adults.

Both the driver and the passengers were arrested, and the case was transferred to federal prosecutors.

According to FOX29 San Antonio, two people who were in the trailer suffered dehydration and were taken to hospital for treatment.

South Texas is the location of the largest trading and transportation points along the border of the USA and Mexico, and trailers transport cargo from country to country.

Truck drivers (usually US citizens) get paid for every illegal traffic they carry.

“Smugglers view these illegal immigrants as cargo,” said Acting Border Patrol Commissioner Carla Provost. - They don't care about them. This is money for them."

This is not the first time that illegal immigrants are transported in a truck. So, in July, 2017, in a truck in the parking lot Walmart in Texas found 30 wounded and 8 corpses. Truck cooling system did not work, and it was difficult for migrants to breathe when the temperature rose to 38 degrees Celsius that day.
