Pilot Southwest Airlines changed the route to save the life of a passenger

The actress of the film “The Club of Tomorrow”, Molly Ringwald, thanked Southwest Airlines for saving the life of her father 77-year-old jazz pianist Bob Ringwald, writes Daily Mail.

According to the actress, the plane made an emergency landing so that her father could provide the necessary medical care. She also thanked the doctor who helped her father before the ambulance arrived.

“We all love to publicly criticize airlines, but today I would like to thank Southwest Airlines and the doctor who happened to be on board. They landed to save my father. Because of their quick work and professionalism, my father’s life was saved,” Ringwald wrote in Twitter.

She did not specify what happened to her father.

Southwest confirmed that they changed the flight that went to Austin, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, so that the passenger could be provided with the necessary medical assistance. The company did not specify where the plane was flying from and when the incident occurred.

“While we cannot disclose emergency information, we are proud of our flight crew who work every day to ensure the safety of passengers,” the company said in a statement.

According to open data, Ringwald’s father lives with his wife, Adele, in Placerville, California, in a town about 45 miles from Sacramento.

Recall earlier this month from one of the aircraft Southwest Airlines engine exploded. As a result of the incident, one woman died, another 7 passengers were injured. But the pilot managed to land the plane and save the lives of more than 100 people.
