Terrorist attack in New Zealand: the shooter warned the Prime Minister about the attack

A few minutes before the attack on the Christchurch mosques in New Zealand, a letter with a “manifesto” from the alleged shooter came to the e-mail of the office of Prime Minister Jasinda Ardern. This is reported by CNN, citing the spokesman for Prime Minister Andrew Campbell, quotes RBC.

He clarified that the letter came to the general e-mail address used by the employees of the prime minister’s office; she did not see the letter herself.

“It was already impossible to stop it,” the Ardern office said.

According to the newspaper's interlocutor, Tarrant sent copies of the manifesto to 70 to recipients, including local and international media, Speaker of the House of Representatives Trevor Mallard and head of the center-right New Zealand National Party Simon Bridges. A representative of the head of state said that Jasinda Arden would not publish the content of the manifesto and the time in which it was received.

About the "manifesto" arrow became known immediately after the attack. It was reported that the 87-page (according to some sources, 74-page) text, which contains mainly anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim ideas, was also spread on social networks shortly before the attacks.

Armed attack on two mosques in Christchurch March 15 occurred. As a result of the attacks, according to the latest data, 49 people were killed, dozens were injured. On suspicion of committing a crime arrested three. One of them, Brenton Tarrant, is a citizen of Australia, the court previously sent him under arrest. Two more remain in custody, their role in the crime committed is not completely clear.

The authorities of New Zealand qualified the incidents as a terrorist attack.
