UN makes playlist of happiness
The United Nations makes a “playlist of happiness” on March 20 - International Day of Happiness.
“On this day, with the help of music - a universal language - we want to show solidarity with millions of people around the world suffering from poverty, disenfranchisement, humanitarian crisis and the impact of environmental degradation and climate change,” explained UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
The playlist will include songs by Ed Sheeran, David Guetta, John Legend, James Blunt. UN Secretary-General proposed to include in the list the composition of Stevie Wander Signed, Sealed, Delivered.
Responsible for the campaign is 18-year-old pop singer Cody Simpson, who encouraged fans to post options for the list on Twitter with the hashtag #HappySoundsLike. On March 20, Simpson will select five of the proposed songs and include them on the official list.
“I am delighted to be participating in such a wonderful program that is raising awareness of the International Day of Happiness. I hope everyone shares a song that makes them happier, ”said Simpson.
International Day of Happiness began to be celebrated in 2012, to support the idea of finding happiness as one of the main life goals.
