A single father walked 17 km to work until his colleagues found out about it
A young single father walked 17 km to work every morning. Colleagues noticed this and decided to do the incredible - give him a car, he says CNN.
Trenton Luce, 21, worked at a UPS facility in Little Rock, Arkansas. To get to work on the 4-hour shift, he had to walk 17 kilometers on foot. The man could not work longer because he raised his 14 month-old daughter Carmen.
Last week, employees learned about his campaigns and decided to fix it. A colleague Bryant told the Lewis Story to other colleagues and decided to raise money for a car. Most of the staff did not even know Lewis, but were impressed with his determination and perseverance.
Soon, everyone began to donate money, and almost 2 thousands of dollars accumulated.
“Everyone I talked to said yes and brought cash,” said Kenneth Bryant. “I explained to the seller what I was doing and for whom, and he lowered the price for me.”
Bryant wanted everything to be perfect.
Workers invited Lewis to the parking lot, ostensibly for a union meeting. Kenneth Bryant reached into his pocket, pulled out the keys to Saturn Ion 2006 of the year and ... Lewis was speechless.
“God always has something for you,” Lewis said. “I will never forget this.”
Lewis thanked his colleagues.
