Obama voted early in Chicago. Video
US President Barack Obama on Friday early voted in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois, reports Chicago Tribune.
Visitors and employees of the station greeted him when he (who was the US senator from the state of Illinois before taking the office of president) entered the early voting center in Chicago.
A smiling Obama shook hands with the center's workers and thanked them for their "outstanding work."
“Now they can’t see me, or can they?” Obama asked jokingly as he shielded his car from reporters.
Obama voted in favor of Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, his successor.
Early voting is an increasingly popular way to participate in elections. Thirty-seven states and the District of Columbia now allow voters to go to the polls in advance, weeks to days before Election Day. This procedure helps reduce queues and allows citizens, in addition to voting, to do something else on this day, reports ShareAmerica.
Early voting is already underway in Iowa and Wisconsin, as well as in Illinois.
General elections will be held in the US on November 8. Will choose between 2 candidates: Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.
