In the Bahamas, one person died as a result of the explosion of a tourist boat, and 11 were injured. Reports the edition about it Daily Mail.

Stephanie Schaffer from Rutland, Vermont, is in a medical coma after a boat with tourists exploded on Saturday at about 9. She was one of the 12 injured people on board, among whom were 10 Americans and 2 Bahamians.

Stephanie flew to the island for the summer holidays with her younger sister Brooke, Stacy's mother and stepfather Paul Bender.

A family member told DailyMail.com that Stafani and Stacy were hospitalized in Nassau.

Stafani's condition is now extremely unstable, to return to the United States.

“She is in the most critical condition right now,” the relative said. “I know she has very serious internal injuries.”

As for Stephanie’s mom, Stacey, during the explosion she lost one leg and suffered several fractures, as well as injuries to the internal organs.

Brooke and Bender managed to get rid of only scratches and bruises.

According to Stephanie's relatives, her family hopes to stabilize the girl’s condition so that she can return to Florida for further treatment. Father and brother Stefani went to the Bahamas to be with her.

Other injuries included teenagers Hayden Jones, his brother Kyle Ackerman, his mother Sheila Jones and her friend John Inman. Wrote about this father Hayden wrote on Facebook.

According to the father, everything is fine with them. They got minor cuts and bruises.

Four more wounded Americans were immediately transported by boat to a hospital in St Petesberg, Florida, by the US Coast Guard.

As a result of the incident, one American woman died. However, it is not yet known whether she died at the site of the explosion or died in hospital from her injuries.

The explosion was accompanied by black smoke and open flame. Some tourists from neighboring boats rushed to the rescue. They managed to catch one person and hide him in a safe place.

The cause of the explosion is investigated by the Exuma unit of the Royal Bahamas Police.
