Lyudmila Ulitskaya: “Europe must learn from Israel to fight terrorism”

The famous Russian writer Lyudmila Ulitskaya is convinced that the act of terrorism in the editorial office of the Paris satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo was the result of Europe’s complete misunderstanding of the threat posed by modern civilization to Islamic terrorism.

In an interview with the Open Russia website, published on 11 in January, she stated that “support for a Palestinian state by Europe will ultimately strengthen the Islamic State, whose goal is to fight the infidels, first with Jews, and then with Christians.”
“A Palestinian state, recognized by the world community or not recognized, turns out to be a springboard for Hamas and Al-Qaida’s attack on European civilization as a whole,” Ulitskaya believes. The writer also noted that Europeans need to learn how to fight terrorism from Israel, which has vast experience in this area, and supported the practice of destroying terrorist houses in the Jewish state.
“After the Israelis began to destroy the houses of terrorists, the number of terrorist attacks in Israel decreased several times ... Unfortunately, this scheme is effective,” Ulitskaya said. But only a few years ago, the writer was not so benevolently disposed towards the Jewish state and admitted that "it is morally difficult for her in Israel."
