Folk dance club 'Kaleidoscope' invites you to trial classes in Brooklyn

«Kaleidoscope"- the youngest children's dance group in Brooklyn, he is only three years old. During this time, the club took part in the "Matryoshka" festival in Pennsylvania, attended Christmas events and New Year's shows at the National club, dedicated to Victory Dayand spoke at the UN at the presentation of the World Festival of Youth and Students.

In addition, the club got in New York, the prestigious Silver Archer Award, it was established by the Board of Trustees of the National Public Relations Award and is presented to ethnic cultural projects in the United States.

Kaleidoscope today is invited to many landmark events not only in New York, but also in other states. Russian-speaking guys from 4 to 20 have been dancing in the ensemble.

Collective organized Valentin Usmanov, who arrived in New York from Ukraine. Choreography at the dance school teaches his spouse - Victoria Markelova.

“We now have children of 18 nationalities in the club. We teach dances from different countries. Children do up to five times a week. We have a very serious physical training, choreography, we learn movements from the dances of different nations of the world, ”said Victoria.

“We are probably the only one of its kind,” says team leader Valentin Usmanov. - In our club, children of various nationalities, cultures and faiths who speak different languages ​​are engaged. “Their ability to learn, which we try to instill in them first of all, their love for dance and history, for ethnic traditions, which we study in parallel with dance, unites them.”

Studying folk dances, as it turned out, is quite an effective way of studying the history of any nation. The leader of the Kaleidoscope says that every time he learns a new dance of a nation with his children, he shares with the pupils information about the history of the nation and the events that influenced its formation. These new knowledge for children are then necessarily reflected in the dance.

“The sense of self-worth and relevance is very important for the child. This is the first step to creating responsibility. First, responsibility to your friends during rehearsals and performances, then responsibility in learning and in family behavior. We are very closely monitoring the successes of our students in school and are in constant contact with all our parents. We are proud that children not only dance better every day, but also learn better. Our main task is not to prepare a professional dancer, but to teach the child to work. This can only be achieved in close contact with the family. This is also collective work and collective victory! ”, Valentin Usmanov talks about his methodology.

The load of the dance club is also a lot of attention. Each Kaleidoscope training has four blocks: a warm-up and physical training, then a classic lesson (choreography), a stunt part and a dance part.

“At the first stage, we collected the most effective exercises for the formation of muscle mass, which are used in the teaching of martial arts, and exercises for the rapid restoration of breathing, which are used in the preparation of football players. After all, we have more boys than girls, and this also makes us different from the rest of the dance schools, ”the team leader explains.
