Islamic State Hackers Threaten Zuckerberg and Dorsey
A group of hackers linked to the extremist organization Islamic State issued threats against Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Twitter founder Jack Dorsey after the largestsocial networks have removed content published by supporters of terrorists.
A group calling itself the Sons of the Caliphate posted a 25-minute video called Flames of the Supporters, showing the owners of two prominent tech companies riddled with bullets and engulfed in flames.
The authors of the video boast that members of the IG still use their Facebook and Twitter accounts, despite attempts by the administrators of these networks to deny their access to social networks. The video says that Facebook has 10 thousands of accounts and 150 groups, and Twitter has 5 thousands accounts.
“Every day you announce the closure of our accounts, and this is what we want to tell you: “Is this all you can do? You and I are in different leagues,” read the captions in the video, which was discovered by the resource Vocativ.
“If you close one account, we will take 10 in return, once your names are erased, when we delete your sites, may Allah willing, and you will know that we are not joking,” say supporters of the Islamic State. .
Facebook administrators closed the Tashfin Malik page, who committed the terrorist attack in San Bernardino with her husband Syed Farooq, for violating the terms of service. According to the company, users are prohibited from posting content that promotes “terrorist attacks.”
Twitter, which has a total of 320 of millions of active users, reported disconnecting more than 125 thousands of IG-related accounts since the middle of 2015.
Social networks have increased their vigilance with regard to content related to the IG, following a meeting with representatives of the federal special services and law enforcement agencies after the terrorist attacks in Paris and San Bernardino.
The December attack in california, whose victims were 14 people, called the largest terrorist attack in the United States after 11 September 2001.
As previously wrote ForumDaily, the company Apple refused to help the FBI, after law enforcement asked the San Bernardino shooter to hack into his iPhone.
Among those who sided with Apple in its conflict with the FBI were Facebook and Twitter. And Microsoft founder Bill Gates, on the contrary, supported the American authorities.
Facebook and Twitter have not yet commented on the publication of the video by a group of hackers associated with the Islamic State.
