The Governor of the State of Hawaii explained that he could not quickly refute the information about the missile attack because he forgot the password from his account in Twitter.
On Sunday, Governor David Ige said that on January 13 morning he could not access his account in Twitter and warn Hawaii residents that cell phone messages about missiles are false.
“I have to admit that I don’t know how my accounts are registered in Twitter and passwords for them,” Ige said. “So of course that’s one of the changes I made.” I installed everything on my phone so we could access social media directly.”
Recall that January 13 residents in Hawaii in 8: 07 am got The following message to mobile phones: “The threat of a ballistic missile approaching Hawaii. Immediately go to the shelter. This is not a training alarm. ”
Later it turned out that the message was sent in error, and the authorities explain the incident with a human error.
An error was detected within 20 minutes, but it took the state authorities 38 minutes to send error messages to mobile phones, which caused criticism from islanders, government officials and the media.
