Ex-lawyer Trump on the Russian case surrendered to the FBI

Allegedly, Cohen paid for Playboy models Karen McDougall and actress Stormy Daniels, both claiming that they had an affair with Trump ten years ago.

In 2017, Cohen promised that he would “take the bullet” for Trump, but the events of recent months indicate that he may be cooperating with prosecutors.

In a recent interview, he said that “first of all he is devoted” to his family and country, and not to the president.

It later emerged that Cohen recorded a conversation with Trump, where they discussed the possibility of acquiring rights to MacDougal's story about her alleged romance with Trump in 2006 and 2007.

Recall that for more than a year, an investigation has been conducted into the attempt of the Russian authorities to influence the American elections. Trump and his key assistants have repeatedly rejected suspicions of any inappropriate contacts with Russian officials during the election campaign. Moscow has also repeatedly denied allegations of attempts to influence the course of presidential elections in the United States.

In addition, earlier media reported that Cohen received a secret payment in the amount of 400 or 600 thousand dollars for organizing the first meeting between Petro Poroshenko and Donald Trump in June last year. According to sources, the payment was organized by intermediaries acting in the interests of Petro Poroshenko.

A senior Ukrainian intelligence officer in the presidential administration said Cohen had to be brought in because registered lobbyists and the Ukrainian embassy in Washington were unable to achieve more than a brief meeting and photo with Trump. At the same time, Poroshenko wanted a top-level meeting, which he could present as “negotiations.” Cohen denied this information.
