Until the end of the year Wi-FI will appear on all metro stations in New York
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) has set a new ambitious goal - to install free Wi-Fi in all subway stations by the end of the year.
Governor Cuomo recently announced that free Wi-Fi will appear in all 278 underground systems in the city by the end of the year.
“The MTA is essential to the daily functioning of New York, but for too long it has been unable to accommodate the region's growing size and strength,” Cuomo said. “It’s about more than just repairs and support. We are modernizing the system like never before and improving it for years to come.”
Previously MTA reported about the new financial plan for 2017 year, in which one of the points was to increase the fare for 3-4%. By raising prices, the company wants to bail out more than $ 300 million for the development of a transit system and more reliable service.
