Diagnosis by photo: how the American neural network recognizes genetic diseases
The American company FDNA developed the DeepGestalt program - the system learned to recognize genetic diseases from photography using the so-called deep learning algorithm.
The FDNA study was published in the journal Nature Medicine, writes Air Force
Artificial intelligence has studied about 17 thousands of images of people with genetic diseases in order to diagnose a person’s photo based on their knowledge.
At the testing stage, the DeepGestalt system repeatedly surpassed doctors.
However, a virtual test can be done without the consent of the person, thereby violating his right to the confidentiality of personal information.
Therefore, the DeepGestalt system is planned to be made available only to customers of medical institutions.
