Democrats in Congress require to interrogate the translator of the conversation Trump and Putin

New-Hampshire Democratic Senator Jean Shahin and Democratic Party member of the US House of Representatives Bill Pascrel called for a translator to be questioned at the Congress who attended the talks between US and Russian Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Helsinki.

Open hearings with the participation of the translator, according to Shahin, "will reveal what the heads of state discussed in private," writes RBC.

“This translator can help determine what Trump shared or promised Putin on our behalf,” said Jean Shahin.

A similar proposal was made by Bill Pascrel.

He noted that “taking into account the concessions that Trump publicly made at the meeting to Putin, Congress and the Americans deserve to know the details of their personal conversation.”

To the list of concessions, the congressman referred to the words of Trump, "directed against the US intelligence community, US law enforcement agencies and military officials regarding Russia's attack on the democracy of the United States" and the Kremlin's interference in the presidential election of 2016 of the year.

“Marina Gross, who was present at the negotiations as a translator, was the only American woman in the room at the time of the one-on-one negotiations.” Therefore, she is the only reliable witness to the conversation between two world leaders,” the politician noted.

Gross currently works for the State Department. For the American government, she translates for many years now. In 2008, she accompanied the former first lady, the spouse of former US President George W. Laura, to Sochi as a translator. Gross was also seen alongside former US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in Moscow in April 2017.

Recall the summit of the presidents of the United States and Russia Held in Helsinki on July 16. The heads of state talked in private for more than two hours. During the talks, they, in particular, discussed the conflicts in Syria and Ukraine, as well as nuclear disarmament.
