At least 23 people died and dozens more were injured after Sunday, 3 March, two powerful tornadoes swept through the eastern part of Alabama.

Deaths occurred in Lee County. Eastern Alabama Medical Center in Opelik reported that more than 40 patients are under treatment. The rest of the victims, whose number is not specified, were sent to other hospitals.
