Militants launched from the Sinai Peninsula several missiles at Israel
A missile strike was delivered to the south of Israel, reported in the country's military structures.
At least one shell landed near the border with the Sinai Peninsula without causing significant damage. According to Israel, the shell was fired from the Sinai, where the Egyptian army is conducting an operation against militants supporting the Islamic State.
The province of North Sinai is a hotbed of tension in Egypt. Since October, the state of emergency and curfew are in force on the peninsula.
Armed people fired several checkpoints at once in Sinai on Wednesday, killing 17 soldiers.
Islamic State militants claimed responsibility for the attacks on army checkpoints. Egypt's army continued its offensive against Islamic State militants on Thursday following clashes with the Islamists that left more than 100 people dead.
