“We understand that some of you feel deceived. We apologize. We have never and will not do anything to shorten the life of any product. Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), or worsen its performance in order to push the client to a new purchase,” the letter says.

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), explains that slowing down phones is associated with lithium-ion battery aging. About a year ago, an update was released for iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone SE, which slowed down the speed of the device to extend the battery life of the old battery and prevent accidental shutdowns. Due to uneven power supply, many smartphones with a worn out battery can turn off when the load increases. As a result Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), just lowered the clock frequency of the chips to prevent it.

To regain the trust of users, the company plans to:

• Reduce the cost of battery replacement without warranty by $50 - from $79 to $29 - for those who have iPhone 6 or later. You can use the service worldwide until December 2018.
• At the beginning of 2018, the company will release an IOS software update with new features that will allow users to more clearly see the status of the phone and how the gadget's performance changes.
