Wisconsin resident wins third largest jackpot in US history

The lottery ticket sold in New Berlin, Wisconsin, on the basis of the March 27 draw won the third largest lottery prize in US history.

The lucky numbers that brought the winner the 768,4 million dollar jackpot were 16, 20, 37, 44, 62 and Powerball 12. The main prize before the rally increased from 750 million dollars due to high ticket sales, writes USA Today.

If the winner decides to take the winnings as a lump sum payment, then after paying taxes he will receive 477 million dollars.

“It's going to be a very green spring for our first 2019 Powerball jackpot winner. A jackpot of this size can make many dreams come true—not just for the winner, but for all Lottery beneficiaries and the state of Wisconsin,” David Barden, chairman of Powerball Product Group, said in a statement.

This jackpot is the largest in the history of the Wisconsin lottery. The retailer who sold the winning ticket has not yet been determined, but according to information from regional officials of the Powerball lottery, he can count on a payment of 100 000 dollars.

The Powerball jackpot has been growing since December 2018 of the year, increasing with every draw in which the main prize was not lost.
