The protection of Johar Tsarnaev appealed the verdict
Lawyers for Johar Tsarnaev, who was sentenced to death in the United States for organizing the terrorist attack in Boston, appealed the verdict.
So far, the defense has filed only a preliminary appeal against the verdict. It does not contain any details. Lawyers only argue that the case should be reconsidered “in the interests of justice.”
The lawyers promised to argue their position in detail and file a full appeal no later than August 17.
At the end of June, the court sentenced Tsarnaev on the basis of the jury’s verdict to death. He was found guilty of organizing explosions at the finishing line of the Boston Marathon in 2013.
As a result of the terrorist attack, three people died, another 264 was injured. Lawyers for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev did not deny his involvement in the explosions, but argued that he acted under the influence of Tamerlan's older brother, who was later shot by the police during his arrest.
