Xiaomi has released its first electric car: it breaks sales records

On April 3, Xiaomi, a well-known technology giant, officially began shipping its first batch of Xiaomi SU7 electric vehicles in China. Within 24 hours, about 90 orders for the car were received, reports Cars.

Dubbed the "Chinese Apple Car", the SU7 has already arrived at 59 car showrooms in 28 cities in China, offering test drives and attracting a large number of people. Reports show that some eager customers even waited until 3am to catch a glimpse of the car.

Xiaomi SU7, an elegant and sporty sedan, is built on the Modena platform. With dimensions of 4997/1963/1455 mm and a wheelbase of 3000 mm, it is taller and longer than the Porsche Tycan, but still retains a svelte silhouette.

The base SU7 costs just about $29. It offers a range of 900 km and an electric powertrain of just under 700 hp, reports CarNews.

The SU7 Pro can travel a staggering 830 km on a single charge. There is also a Max version with a range of 800 km, but with an increase in power to 663 hp. – enough to put many modern supercars to shame. The most expensive model in the line costs $41.

The launch of Xiaomi SU7 has definitely changed the balance of power in the Chinese car market. This will likely lead to a new phase of the price war.
