Blow up Times Square: in New York, the police arrested a lone terrorist
22-year-old man is in federal prison because he was interested in where to buy grenades, and discussed the possibility of blowing them up on Times Square in New York, according to information from law enforcement sources.

Suspect Ashigul Alam was intercepted by federal and local law enforcement agencies. Now he is not an immediate threat.
According to ABC News sources, he was arrested on charges of trying to buy a pistol with a downed serial number. The suspect is expected to appear before a federal court in Brooklyn on Friday, June 7.
Alama, who lives in Jackson Heights, Queens, came out after his requests to buy grenades and discuss their use in Times Square, sources told ABC News.

Members of the New York Combined Anti-Terrorism Group, which includes FBI agents and investigators from the New York Police Department, began tracking Allama and eventually arrested him.
It is believed that he is not affiliated with other people or part of a larger conspiracy.
