The wave of terror in Israel
Four terrorist acts were committed over the past day on the territory of Israel, reported with reference to law enforcement agencies. Another terrorist attack was warned before it.
Shortly before noon, an 18-year-old Palestinian resident, Shuruk Daviat, launched an armed attack on an 36-year-old Israeli in the Sha'ar Araiot district in the Old City of Jerusalem. The victim managed to pull out his personal weapon and fired several shots in the direction of the terrorist.
He received knife wounds of moderate severity in the back and head and was taken to the metropolitan hospital Hadassah. The attacker received a severe gunshot wound.
Two and a half hours later, 17-year-old resident of the Palestinian village of Ita (southern suburb of Hebron) Amjad al-Dzhunti attacked a soldier at a bus stop in Kiryat Gat. The soldier received a minor knife wound. The attacker stole the personal weapon of the wounded man and took refuge in a residential building adjacent to the site of the terrorist attack. It was destroyed by security personnel who arrived at the scene of the incident.
Later, 25-year-old Palestinian terrorist Tamer Varidat from the village of Daariya attacked a young man who was standing at a bus stop at a large shopping center on Zhabotinsky Street in Petah Tikva. The victim received moderate knife wounds. The terrorist was disarmed and detained by the security staff of the shopping center.
Two hours later, a Palestinian driving a car stolen in Israel hit a soldier in the area of the Ha-Zaim checkpoint. Two people were slightly injured. Later it turned out that a resident of the territories detained by the security services was trying to escape from prosecution and did not intend to commit the attack.
In the evening, there were reports of attacks by Arab crowds on buses in Jaffa and Nazareth Ilit. The crowd stoned buses and sticks. No injuries.
Later it became known that the head of the government Netanyahu canceled his planned trip to Germany due to a sharp deterioration in the security situation in Israel.
