A veteran called 911 to help him buy food
Although the 911 dispatchers do not usually have anything to do with the food delivery business, they made an exception for the 81-year-old army veteran from North Carolina.
Clarence Blackmon from Fayetteville, North Carolina, called 911 after returning home from a rehabilitation center in which he spent more than one year. He found that in his fridge there was not even a hung mouse.
The veteran, who is battling prostate cancer, said he has no family and can't get to the store either. “I need someone to go to the grocery store and bring me food because I need to eat something. Could you help me? I can’t do anything or go anywhere,” Blackmon said over the phone.
Dispatcher Marilyn Hinson (Marilyn Hinson) was touched, and quickly recorded a shopping list, which consisted of cabbage, pepsi, beans, and a few more items. To the house of the veteran she was accompanied by police officers. Blackmon was very grateful to those who were willing to help those in need.
