In South Carolina, filmed an unusual rainbow
In South Carolina, people filmed a unique natural phenomenon - a rainbow in the shape of a flame. Hundreds of photographs of this natural wonder have been posted online. They show multi-colored “flames” above the beach.
Vacationers watched an unusual rainbow for about two hours. According to meteorologists, this phenomenon is extremely rare in nature. To form it, the sun must be located at a height of at least 58 degrees above the horizon.
«Для того, чтобы произвести цвета радуги, лучи солнца должны попасть на кристаллы льда под точным углом, чтобы дать эффект призмы и цветового спектра,» – рассказал метеоролог Джастин Лок.
A rainbow is an atmospheric, optical, and meteorological phenomenon observed when the Sun (sometimes the Moon) illuminates a multitude of water droplets. The rainbow arc is most common, but many other optical phenomena are known that occur for similar reasons or look alike.
