Ukraine can spend three more waves of mobilization

Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Pyotr Mekhed allows for three more waves of partial mobilization, depending on the development of the situation in the Donbas.

“Depending on the development of the situation, there may be a seventh, an eighth, and a ninth (wave of mobilization - ed.). But we are now actively working to increase the number of military personnel who are ready to sign a contract. In this regard, the General Staff is now working on an option so that the term of the contract is fixed: six months, a year,” the deputy minister said.

Note that as of August 2015, the mobilization plan for the sixth wave was fulfilled at 50%.

13 April 2014, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine decided to launch an anti-terrorist operation in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions with the involvement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During this time, the history of Ukraine has been replenished with two copies of the Minsk agreements, but the militants still remain in Ukraine.

During this time, five mobilization waves have passed in Ukraine, the sixth one is still ongoing.

The number of internally displaced persons in Ukraine has reached 1,4 million people. This is stated in the message of the UN in Twitter.

Since the beginning of the conflict in eastern Ukraine - from mid-April 2014 to 30 in May 2015 - at least 6417 people have died, in particular, about 626 women and children, according to a UN human rights report. The data represent a rough estimate, so real losses can be much higher. This is evidenced by the fact that quite a few people are considered missing.
