In Russia, an Oscar for Di Caprio collected 1,4 kilograms of silver

In Yakutia, the collection of silver and gold for the people's statuette of Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio has been completed, said Tatyana Egorova, organizer of the Oscar for Leo project.

“In total, 1 kg 386 g of silver and 3,49 g of gold were collected. We used a piece casting scheme. Therefore, the figurine will be ready in the next few days,” Egorova said.

According to her, 144 fan of the actor from Yakutsk and other regions of the republic took part in the action.

“In addition, we held a competition to name a folk statue. The preliminary version is “Speaking to the Stars,” Egorova noted.

Currently, the organizers are deciding the issue of delivering the people's award from Yakutsk into the hands of the actor. Among the potential carriers is the American film company 20th Century Fox. Fans also sent an official letter to the DiCaprio Foundation asking for assistance in transferring the award.

“The local jewelry company Kierge will do the final work, and it [the figurine – IF] will be ready for shipment. Let me remind you that we do not focus on February 28 [the date of the Oscars in Los Angeles - IF] and are not dependent on the timing,” she added.

Earlier it was reported that residents of Yakutia are raising funds for a silver Oscar statuette for American actor Loenardo DiCaprio.

The Yakut “Oscar” will differ from the original in its Asian appearance, with its head raised up, and in the fact that in its hands it will be held not a sword, but a choron - the national Yakut vessel. The figurine is cast from silver, since among the Yakuts this metal has a sacred meaning, and the choron is gold.

As wrote earlier by ForumDaily, Leonardo DiCaprio hasn't yet Oscar, although he has already been nominated for this prestigious film award five times.

In 2014, as a consolation to the actor, instead of missing four Oscars, the Russians gave a piece of Chelyabinsk meteorite and a cast iron figurine from Kasli casting, reminiscent of an Oscar.
