In St. Petersburg, killed the famous Russian opposition

On January 26, 54-year-old Russian opposition leader Konstantin Sinitsyn, a regular participant in peaceful protest rallies, was killed in St. Petersburg. On this, with reference to human rights activist Dinara Idrisova, writes the publication Fontanka.

The body of a man with traces of head injuries was found at the entrance of his house on Kuzmin Podvodnik Street in the Kirovsky district of St. Petersburg. According to the newspaper, death was violent.

A few days later, police detained a suspect in the beating of a dead opposition member. The arrested was the 44-year-old storekeeper of one of the trading houses Vasiliev.

As writes edition Rosbalt, with reference to a source in law enforcement, Vasiliev was the last to see Sinitsina alive. Men quarreled after drinking alcohol together. The stockman brutally beat Sinitsyn and fled.

A criminal case was initiated under Part 4 of the Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm resulting in death).

Sinitsin was a famous opposition figure. In 2011, he was delayed as part of the action to hand over the report of Boris Nemtsov to the participants of the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, in 2015, he actively opposed the system for collecting payments for damage to roads by Platon machines, last year was an unchallenged participant in actions to defend the secular status of Isaakievsky cathedral.
