In Ohio, prisoners fought over the parcel from a drone
In the courtyard of a prison in Mansfield, Ohio, there was a fight between prisoners after unknown criminals dropped drugs from a drone. The package intended for one of the prisoners contained a 65,4 gram of marijuana, a 6,6 gram of heroin and a 144,5 gram of tobacco. It is reported by the Mansfield News Journal, citing the official representative of the Department for the Execution of Punishments and Rehabilitation of the State of Joellen Smith.
When the package was picked up, a fight broke out among the prisoners. Correctional officers had to use pepper spray.
The prisoners were taken to the gym, where they were stripped and inspected. Nine participants of the fight were sent to solitary cells. As a result of the incident no one was hurt.
As CBS News reports, in recent years, unmanned vehicles have been increasingly used to smuggle to prisons around the world. Similar incidents were recorded in Russia, Brazil, Ireland, Greece, Switzerland and Australia.
