In New York it will be easier to complain about sexual harassment

The New York State Senate has adopted a new measure to combat sexual harassment, which makes it easier for victims to file complaints and makes it harder for employers to silence prosecutors.

The bill, which was supported by Senator Catherine Yang, a Republican from Western New York, was passed on the 56 vote in a vote against 2 and will now be sent to the Assembly, writes New York Post.

This bill restricts employers from forcing victims to sign a document prohibiting them from telling their own stories and suing the courts.

It also allows workers who are not employees to file complaints of harassment at the workplace and prohibits signing a confidentiality agreement, unless the victim requires it.

The draft law further prohibits the binding agreement of the parties on the transfer of their dispute to an arbitration court.

This measure reflects Governor Cuomo’s plan to create a unit that will deal only with complaints of sexual harassment, and create one policy for all state and local governments, including the legislature.
