In New York, we opened applications for Pre-K classes: how to enroll for free

If your child is 3 or 4, it’s time to think about early childhood education. The New York Department of Education began accepting applications for preschool in the 2018-2019 school year, writes Patch.

Program "Pre-K for AllThe city guarantees every 4-year-old child a place in pre-preparatory classes from September to June. Anyone who has a child 2014 year of birth, can apply before 30 March.

The Department of Education states that parents can apply to any of the 12 school districts throughout the city. Classes are held in public elementary schools, urban pre-school children's centers, in early education centers that operate outside community groups, and in private schools.

Parents of three-year-olds living in any of the six school districts can also apply for the program.3-K for All”, the goal of which is to start children in school a year earlier. Applications for children born in 2015 should begin to be accepted on May 11.

These classes will be available in the next school year in 4 district in East Harlem, 5 district in Harlem, 7 district in the South Bronx, 16 district in Bedford-Stuyvesant, 23 district in Brooklyn, covering Brownsville, East New York and Brooklyn District, East New York and Brooklyn, covering Brownsville, East New York, and Brownsville, East London. 3-year-old classes will be offered in a total of 12 school districts.

The Department of Education will assign seats for 3-s and 4-year-olds by the end of May. Decisions regarding three-year-olds will come by the end of this month due to a later submission deadline.

Parents who indicate several schools will be assigned to the place of their highest rank, in which there are vacant places. Families will need to provide evidence that they have the right to certain programs if they are offered places in these programs.
