The world's first beauty contest without makeup was held in London: even lip gloss was banned
The first ever no-makeup beauty contest took place in London. The participants did not even use lip gloss, reports Twizz.

A dental nurse has become the winner of a “beauty contest without makeup.” Natasha Beresford, 26, has been crowned Miss London 2023 in the regional Miss England competition.
For the first time in the competition's 95-year history, it featured a girls' no-makeup competition, with 19 British women taking part. They all took to the runway with a clean face and boho-inspired outfits made from sustainable materials of their choice. The final of the competition took place on September 30.

Natasha impressed the judges by wearing a white lace dress from British sustainable brand Shikoba Bride. Natasha will compete in the Miss England finals later this year.
Natasha Beresford began working as a nurse at the Royal London Dental Hospital in 2021, where she has been dubbed a "real tooth fairy" treating children.
“I hope to use my title to inspire young women to feel confident and beautiful without makeup,” she said.

In previous years, participants were asked to send their photos without filters or makeup, but this year, due to the introduction of a new part of the competition, they were forbidden to even use lip gloss while already on the podium. Organizers said the concept aims to empower women, increase self-confidence and promote a more realistic appearance.
Finalists
Second place went to 23-year-old engineering student Afrouz Amin from Lewisham. The girl works on the London Underground.
Temi Adeyemi, 26, an accounting assistant, and Alanta Richards, 17, a cosmetology student, also made it into the top five.
The People's Choice Award went to 26-year-old businesswoman Lauren Malone.
