Scandal erupted in the Israeli police because of the availability of classified material

Police from the data protection unit, dressed in civilian clothes, "strolled" through various police departments in the country and almost everywhere managed to freely obtain secret investigative documents from files - sometimes literally under the noses of the investigators themselves.

Evidence of a negligent attitude to the protection of documents recorded by a hidden camera was presented to Inspector General Johanan Danino, who will soon have to delegate authority to his successor. According to the radio station, Danino categorically rejected the words of subordinates that the next chief of police would have to deal with this problem.

“I am responsible for the work of this organization until the last day of my powers, and direct responsibility for eliminating this phenomenon lies with the district chiefs, regardless of who now heads the police,” Danino said and promised that inspections will be strengthened.
